Dr. Soheir H. Ahmed, Asst. professor and director School of Graduate Studies (SGS) recently participated in the YouLead Africa summit. At this impactful event, a panel of inspiring women researchers from across Africa convened to launch the “More Women in Research Manifesto.” This initiative is a powerful response to the ongoing gender disparities in academia and research, particularly in Africa, where women remain significantly underrepresented.
The manifesto, drafted by 50 dedicated women researchers, highlights the urgent need for change and offers key recommendations for various stakeholders, including women in research, government bodies, higher education institutions, and more.
At the Center for Research, Publications and Community Services, University of Hargeisa and School of Graduate Studies (SGS) University of Hargeisa, we are committed to encouraging research writing among women, pursue postgraduate programs and PhDs and inspire more women in academia and research.
Together, we can break the glass ceiling and create a more equitable environment for women in academia.
